ODA PROGRESU

posvećena Maliki Boussouf i Susani Sontag Predstava koju izvode huldrefolk, skrivena bica - elfi, trolovi, imagíname životinje i gnomi, koji slave ulazak homo sapiens-sapiensa u novi milenijum. ODE TO PROGRESS Dedicated to Malika Boussouf and Susan Sontag A performance by the huldrefolk, the hidden people of elves, trolls, imaginary animals, fairies and gnomes as they celebrate the entrance of homo sapiens-sapiens into the new millenium. "They thought that the world existed only for them." The performative civilisation of European origin suffers from the division between theatre and dance, almost as though these were two different universes of expression. They are, in fact, a single world which develops into distinct genres and yet is rooted in the experience of how the performer's body-mind becomes scenically present. Instead of theatre and dance, we can talk of deep dance and evident dance. Deep dance is typical of the scenic forms which do not appear to be danced. Evident dance sometimes separates itself from every mimetic or narrative criterion and presents itself as a pure expression of physical dynamism. All performance, however, is dance at its physical and mental roots, a dance of energy and thought. ODE TO PROGRESS In this performance, creatures of the underworld, hulder, trolls, elves, fairies, gnomes and strange animals, celebrate the achievements of human kind through music, song and dance. They have achieved so much, but the human race always congratulate themselves on their achievements?
