■ Machomen is a production created during five months of research and artistic work within the project Be a Man, the purpose of which is to educate young people about gender equality, non-violence and healthy life-styles. The chief subject is masculinity and the way in which manliness is treated, i.e. formed in our culture. The production intends to bring to light this problem and document the story of the generation born during the wars in the Balkans, whose value system was formed during the transition and is thus confused and rather unstable. The text of the production is a collage of personal stories, experiences and attitudes of the team of co-authors and performers; dramatisation of theses in Steve Biddulph’s book Manhood: An action pan for changing men’s lifes-, references to theorists of the men movement; fragments from the press, internet and television. The production uses statistical data obtained in the poll Young men and manhood within the project Be a Man, experience of the coaches in the project and
