REČ SELEKTORA Slično istraživanje glumačke umetnosti kao i u predstavi Biblija, prvi pokušaj , slovenački reditelj Jernej Lorenci sprevodi i u ovogodišnjoj festivalskoj koprodukciji Narodnog pozorišta u Beogradu i Bitef teatra, a koja če premijerno biti izvedena na festivalu. Ovog puta tekstualno polazište je srpska epska književnost srednjeg veka, u kojoj reditelja privlače različiti konkretni motivi. Na višem tematskem planu, njega posebno zanima arhetipska situacija, karakteristična za srpsku, ali i neke druge kulture: smenjivanje samo dve uloge, heroja i žrtve, bez mogučnosti identifikovanja s nekom uravnoteženom egzistencijalnom pozicijom. Scenska posebnost projekta nalazi se u torne što se njegov prvi deo igra na sceni „Raša Plaovič" Narodnog pozorišta, a drugi, posle prelaska publike u toku pauze iz jednog prostora u drugi, u Bitef teatru. Ovo izmeštanje nije produkcijski zahtev - zarad bolje vidljivosti oba koproducenta - večje potpuno opravdano rediteljskem idejom: smenjivanjem različitih perspektiva na dotičnu tematiku.

CURATORS’ WORD Similar to the one he employs in The Bible, the First Attempt, Slovenian director Jernej Lorenci also resorts to exploration of the art of acting in this year’s festival coproduction (National Theatre in Belgrade and Bitef Theatre) which will have its premiere at the 51 st Bitef. This time, the textual basis is the Serbian medieval epic literature which attracted the director by various concrete motifs. At a higher thematic level, he is particularly interested in the archetypal situation typical of the Serbian and some other cultures: the alternation of only two roles, the hero and the victim, where identification with a balanced existential position is not possible. In terms of the stage, the project stands out because its first part takes place on Rasa Plaović Stage of the National Theatre and then, during the intermission, the audience moves to Bitef Theatre for the second part. The displacement is not a production requirement, aimed at providing better visibility for the two producers - it is fully justified by the director's idea which is to offer different perspectives of the theme in hand.
