what end he defires to know fuch things; whether he defires to practice that which he might obtain ; and be{tow it to the glory of God, and the welfare of his neighbour : Alfo whether he defires to die to eartblinefs, and to bis own will; and to live in that which he feeks and defires, and to be one {pirit with it.

If he have not a purpofe, that if God fhould reveal himfelf and his myf{teries to him; he would be one fpirit, and have one will witn God, and wholly refign and yield himfelf up to him; that God’s Spirit may do what he pleafes with him, and by him; and that God may be his knowledge, will and working: he is not yet fit for fuch knowledge and underftanding.
