DUSAN MIKIJA, A JOURNALIST, MOST LIKELY ONE OE THE FEW SERBS WHO WAS A CORRESPONDENT ON ALL FIVE CONTINENTS IN OVER 90 COUNTRIES WORLDWIDE. HE WAS PERMANENT CORRESPONDENT IN AFRICA AT THE MOST MOMENTOUS PROTESTS, THEN IN ITALY, BELGIUM... ACCORDINGILIY, HE WAS IN POSITION TO COMMUNICA-– TE WITH THE IMPORTANT PEOPLE OF WORLD POLITICS, FROM THE CAR SEALY TO SANDRO PERTINI, KURT WALDHEIM...
He followed war and revolutions, military OVerthrow in Ethiopia, and on the basis of his experience he wrote the novel Journcy to Adis Ababa. He is once of the rare journalists who traveled to Gibuti, the seat of Foreign Legion, by train. He published Journeys as remembered for publishing house Plato, written with mild irony during the war, given, as hc says himself, that travel diariecs were usually written in pathctic manner here. He tried to turn things upside down and present the troubles, a traveling journalist encountcrs in WOTIdwidc travcls.
"These days Krusevac thcatre is preparing, the show Orden whose author is Dusan Miklja himself. This is thc first performance of his
text for theatre but he already had experience working for radio (Radio Belgrade preformed four of his radio dramas).
-This drama is inspired by the real cyent which by chance happened here, although it could have happened anywhere in the world. It happened on the South of Serbia and its significance is in power of a person to get medal in the name of their deceased son. This gesturce is the root of thc family drama because the grandfathcr

Krusevac theatre has excellent production and I accepted Bradic advice for Orden to be preformed there first. It is directed by Branislav Nedic, the manager of the theatre. Dejan Toncic plays the father, Milija Vukovic plays the grandfather, and Biljana Nikolic plays the mother. The premiere should be at the beginning of March, and some time later: there will be Belgrade's premiere, at the Cross theatre, announced the author of this drama. „„.“ .,
However, this is not the only theatre play Dusan.Miklja prepared for a theatre:
- I have already written a comedy Trougao sa cetiri ugla (Triangle with four corners) which deals with an interesting subject our people around the globe. It was originally written as a theatre play but also as a screenplay. It takes place partly here and partly in New York. I am looking for directotf and Goran Paskal-

"This tragedy took place during the NATO bombing, of our country. 1070 medals has been given for killed children, but this was thc only example where somconc refused to rcccivc thc medal believing, that thc life of a young man is worth more then any honor of such kind.

(72) that will be shown in ten days of the 33rd FEST (February 25. March 6) is probably not enough to cover the entire film production in the world. However, thc festival's organizers have made an cffort to present the movies of renowned directors, works awarded at big intcrnational film festivals, and regional production, but also to revcal brand new dircctors” names to Belgrade'"s public.

although it is not cxplicitly said. After all, tragedy as such, can only be expericnced on a personal level. There arc no general tragcedics or dramas, there is only unhappiness of a single person. "The intention of this drama is according to Miklja to introduce controversial and polemic subject to the thcatre and the literaturc since it has been neglected here, al-, though it is present in politics and press, and that theme is loss of a your life in this unfortunate country.

with thcir' personal misfortunes. "The reason for writing this drama was the conflict between two standpoints, onc presented by father, who bitterly' defends the stand that the life is the most important thing and that everything, else is in some other hierarchy less valuable. "The other standpoint is prcsented by grandfather, traditional values, who does not only lives in his world but under the influence of myth of collective good, so called general cause which is completely abstract, says Miklja.

taking father's side, cven now I personally favor his stand more thcn the stand of the grandfather. But I madc the grandfather completely acceptablec, more human as well. Maybe that is most cevident in dialogues, in his constant conflict with thc father. In the beginning he is very defensive and then hc begins to reason, he Decomes morc argumentativc and says: What do you want from us? We believed, that is how we were brought up... Therefore everyone has their reason, none is explicitly right, and no one is cxplicitly guilty. Still I favor the father's stand point of not getting killed so casily and in vain. That subject is never of the local but universal· nature, it could be universal theme. Situations arc similar everywhere: someonc gets killed somewhere, from the position of the state or the government it is patriotic act expected from the young people. But for the family it is always unrecoverable loss. Although more attention is given to male charactcrs, female, that is mother, also take important place. “To begin with, the character oF.the. mother is similar to the once in the Greek tragedics, her drama is in silen-
